Forest Industry Celebrates Annual National Forest Week

  |
September 25, 2017

SEPTEMBER 25, 2017 – OTTAWA: This week is National Forest Week and Forest Products Association of Canada is proud to celebrate Canada’s natural and renewable resource – forests.

Forestry has been a vital contributor to Canada’s economy in rural and northern communities since long before Confederation. Today, it continues to be the lifeblood in over 600 communities across Canada, from Prince George, B.C., to Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador.

Canada’s forest sector not only brings good jobs to towns that need them, but through world-leading forest management practices continues to be a leader in the fight against climate change. We are embracing new technologies to expand our markets and are developing innovative world-first products.

We invite all Canadians to stand tall with Canada’s forest sector and celebrate our vibrant past and promising future.
