My takeaway from our conversations was that, for real engagement to take place, both parties needed to be willing to actively listen to each other. Being able to accept someone else's views, regardless if they conflict with your own, was key to fostering a constructive dialogue.

Today, I'm going to show you the Kraft pulp process that we make at the Saint-Félicien mill. I also filmed a short video to show you the inside world of the mill. Finally, I'll tell you about the values that Resolute Forest Products promotes.

As an HR Student, I am exposed to a lot of entry level HR recruiting work. My supervisor receives applications for various open positions at our plant and gets me to set up interviews between the candidates and the appropriate managers. I sometimes sit in on these interviews to observe the interviewers and develop a better understanding of the hiring process.

Work has been great lately. Myself and my coworker have been working on a larger construction project. The transloading part of the mill needed a new scale to weigh trucks with incoming materials, as I described in the last blog. The project so far has gone on for just over a week.

Any day that involves learning and being out in the field makes for a fun day!

Oh, the things we find off the beaten path! Nature is unexpectedly beautiful and you find all manner of neat things when you explore and keep aware. I always strive for minimal impact when I explore.

I started my forestry career in 2017 fighting wildfires for Strategic Natural Resource Consultants. That was one of BC’s worst fire seasons to date and it was quite the experience to say the least.

The words Green Energy, 100% Utilization, Sustainability, and Good Neighbours are some of the first to come up. I know if managed correctly, forestry can restore health to a forest. It is a renewable resource that can improve plant growth and with the proper forest practices, it can reduce severe forest fires.
