Greetings faithful readers,

Summer is already coming to an end. It's getting darker, beach days are becoming less frequent and the nights are getting cooler. There is no doubt that the start of the 2022 school year is approaching. Back to school means goodbye to the full-time internship and my experience with the Forest Products Association of Canada as a dream intern.

Throughout my internship, I was responsible for the staffing process, job analysis and labour relations. I had a real pleasure to carry out my mandates and to work with the entire human resources department as well as with the supervisors and employees. I was able to expand my circle of professional contacts and rub shoulders with people who are experts in their field. My semester in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean allowed me to experience a great summer with exceptional people. I loved spending time with my friends, going out to restaurants, being with my family, hiking, camping and more. My experience at Resolute Forest Products was a huge surprise to me, as I never thought I would come away with so much knowledge and skills. I couldn't have asked for more!

A weekend in Tadoussac: the sand dunes

I still have a lot to learn and I am definitely ready for this next step in my life. I will be returning to Quebec City to finish my last year of undergraduate studies. Of course, since I'm always ready for an adventure and to enjoy the various landscapes that nature offers, I've organized a little trip just before starting school hehe! I'll be leaving for the Gaspé Peninsula next week for 6 six days, by car, with one of my high school friends. We'll be touring the peninsula. A little nature stop to recharge our batteries.

Finishing my BAC in the winter of 2022, I am already starting to feel the end of my academic career. There is a good chance that I will continue my studies for a master's degree in labour law or labour psychology. I am proud to announce that I will remain employed by Resolute Forest Products during my academic year as a teleworker, but more importantly, that I will continue with them in a permanent, full-time position in human resources upon completion of my Bachelor's degree in Industrial Relations!

I would like to thank everyone who made my experience enjoyable and educational throughout the summer. I would like to salute Rémi, Stéphanie, Candide and Sabrina: the human resources team at the Kraft kraft plant in Saint-Félicien. You made my internship interesting and exciting. Thanks also to Kerry and Justin who accompanied us during our experience with the Forest Products Association of Canada.

I've enjoyed sharing slices of my daily life with you, but it's time to say goodbye!

Goodbye, dear colleagues and readers, and have a great end of summer. Enjoy every moment of life!

Maïka Lambert
