1. My Commute
Check out my view of some lumber on the way to the Food Stash Foundation! Did you know that in Canada, 58% of the food we produce is wasted? Food Stash aims to reduce that number while also helping those in need in the community.
2. At Food Stash
We helped to rescue surplus food. My colleagues and I were tasked with placing ice packs along with meat, dairy, produce and bread in boxes. These boxes were then delivered to over 100 households with financial challenges and chronic illnesses or disabilities.
3. Reflection
Volunteer work is very important to me, and seeing the well-researched, professional, and organized operations of the Food Stash Foundation was eye opening. It is fulfilling to work at a company like Canfor that actively supports community programs.
