Étienne Bélanger

vice president, indigenous relations and forestry

Etienne loves to gather people together around a table – whether to roleplay with friends, share a meal with family, or discuss forest management issues. He is a forester who believes that forestry isn’t just about trees, but about people, and he thrives in dynamic situations where he can help find common language and shared interests.

Etienne Bélanger joined Forest Products Association of Canada in 2008. As Director of Forestry, he provides FPAC members with strong leadership and forward-thinking advocacy on sustainable forest management, particularly regarding Indigenous relations.

Etienne holds a master’s degree in Forest Science from Université Laval and is a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs forestiers du Québec. He is a sword fighting adept and eager hunter living in Aylmer, Québec.
