FPAC Praises Move by MPs to Examine Forestry Industry’s Challenges

The Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC) applauded today the decision by the House of Commons Standing Committee on Natural Resources to undertake an intensive study that focuses on the unique opportunities and challenges facing the forest products industry. This comes less than a week after Avrim Lazar, FPAC chief executive and president, issued such a request to MPs on the Standing Committee of Industry, Science and Technology during testimony dealing with the impact of a stronger Canadian dollar.

Forest Industry Head Calls on Parliament to Undertake Forest Products Industry Study

Canadian Forest Products Industry Aims to be First Carbon-Neutral Sector

The Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC) announced today that Canada’s forest products industry, a global leader in sustainable forest management, is setting a new bar for environmental responsibility and action on climate change: industry-wide carbon-neutrality by 2015 without the purchase of carbon offset credits.
