FPAC to Release Results of New Study on Future Directions of Industry

Avrim Lazar, President and CEO of the Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC), will release the findings of a comprehensive, year-long study that sets the course for the forest industry’s emergence from one of the worst economic periods in its history. FPAC will call on the Government of Canada to support the industry in taking full advantage of the energy, environmental and economic opportunities the study identifies.

FPAC is the voice of Canada’s wood, pulp and paper producers nationally and internationally in government, trade and environmental affairs. Canada’s forest industry is a $65 billion dollar a year industry that represents almost 2% of Canada’s GDP. The industry is one of Canada’s largest employers, operating in hundreds of Canadian communities and providing nearly 700,000 direct and indirect jobs across the country.
